VLANs on LACP port-channel

In the case of L2 trunk port-channel on which LACP is configured to be active, where one side is a Nexus switch and the other side is a compute host, is there any configuration case in which VLANs on the Nexus switch and the compute host need to be the same for LACP to permit the port-channel to come up?

Hi there,

The allowed vlan list configured on a trunk link has no impact on the operation of LACP.

It is worth noting that on Nexus when configuring a vPC between Nexus chassis 'compatibility parameters' (show vpc consistency-parameters ) on peer links require the VLAN list to match on both ends for the link to come up. Since you are connecting a Nexus to host this won't come into play.

cheers,

Seb.
