VPC link not working with vsphere

Hi all!  I'm pretty new to networking, so forgive me if I missed something obvious. I have a new HP Server running ESXi and joined to vsphere.  It has dual NICS and is connected to two Nexus 5000's.  I've connected a port from each NIC to each Nexus with vpc (the switches aren't stacked) and teaming on esxi using IP hashing.  Each link independently works, but as soon as I connect both, I lose access to the server (currently just working on the Managment vlan).  I know LACP is a thing, but our vsphere isn't licensed for it.  My goal is to have teaming working for network redundancy.

VPC and port channel status.

All the config is the same on both switches.

if the HP server not support LACP, then he need to use mode ON,
active/passive is for only LACP

LACP is a standard protocol... for sure HP servers support that...in almost 90% of vendors use lacp as a default protocol when enabled nic team/lag

 - Also check logs on both Nexus 5000 devices when you (try) to make the connection and check vsphere networking logs too
