vPC Peer Link for line card migration

Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade the cards in two of my N7k from old M1 series cards to F3 cards.  I know they can't coexist together (all our VDCs span both modules), but I'm trying to understand if I can fully upgrade one switch, bring it back online with the vPC Peer Link intact, then upgrade the second one.  The goal is that downstream devices that are port-channeled to both switches (primarily the UCS Fabric Interconnects) would not experience an outage.

So the question is, can a N7k with M1 cards form a vPC peer link to a N7k with F3 cards on the other side of the peer link?

I'm referencing this document and the line that has me concerned on page two is "vPC Peer-Link Member Ports and Both Endpoints Combinations"

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus7000/sw/matrix/technical/reference/Module_Comparison_Matrix.pdf

I don't have a test environment for this, so appreciate everyone's help in preparing for this upgrade.

Cheers,

Katie

          >....vPC Peer-link can be formed only with same family of modules, for example F3 to F3 or M3 to M3. It is not possible
to mix different families of modules on the peer-link, for example F3 on peer and M3 othe the other peer switch. It
is mandatory that both sides of vPC peer-link are strictly identical. Exception from the rule are F2 and F2E cards,
which can form a vPC peer-link.

Thank you both for the information! I was pretty sure this was the case, but I appreciate you helping confirm it.

Cheers,

Katie

Yes sorry

You can only use same module for peer-link

But you can mix for vpc PO.

Check link I share' two vpc pairs connect via different modules
