VPN support on Cisco switches

Hi All,

Wanted to confirm on whether the below mentioned switches would support   IPsec VPN configuration for configuring a VPN tunnel between 2 sites??

1. Cisco SG220-26P Small & mid-size organization Business Switches

Have checked the data sheets for  Cisco SG220-26P, but couldn't find any relevant info.

Is there any lower or higher model which supports IPSec VPN configuration?

Any leads on this, highly appreciated.

Regards,
Manuel

SWITCH is SWITCH (In most cases it is not supported) some new Switch different Enterprise levels may have features.

In most cases for VPN, we use a Router or Firewall..

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

It does not support. You can check this. If VPN were supported it would be shown here on Security Feature.

Network security. The Cisco 220 Series switches provide new levels of security for smart switches and deliver more ways to safeguard your network.

◦ Support for network security applications such as IEEE 802.1X and port security can tightly limit access to specific segments of your network.

◦ Guest virtual LANs (VLANs) let you provide Internet connectivity to nonemployee users while isolating critical business services from guest traffic.

◦ Extensive ACLs can restrict sensitive portions of the network from unauthorized users and guard against network attacks.

◦ Security mechanisms such as broadcast/multicast/unknown unicast storm control and Bridge Protocol Data Unit (BPDU) guard can protect the network from invalid configurations or malicious intent.

◦ Denial-Of-Service (DOS) attack prevention helps to increase uptime in the event of a network attack.

◦ Protect management sessions using RADIUS, TACACS+, and support local database authentication as well as secure management communication over SSL, SSH, and SNMPv3.

I believe (?) . . .

Most, if not all, Cisco low end L3 switches do not support IPSec VPN.

Few, if any, Cisco high end L3 switches might support IPSec VPN.

However, depending on your actual tunneling requirements, other tunnel options might exist - options likely varies much between platforms.
