VRF routing question

Typically, VRF is used to isolate, or segment traffic between two networks. For instance, if an ISP wants to separate two customers on one pipe, and provide the same IP addressing, etc.

But if VRF is used internally by one company, how would it

1. Provide redundancy in a MPLS situation?

2. Router bewteen different VRF networks using the same ip addressing schemes?

I don't need a super detailed answer, I am just looking for design hints.

Hi,

VRF provide logical separation within the same physical network.  Although you can use the same IP addressing schemas within each vrf, but that is not always the case.  There are situations when you have one physical internal network, but multiple tenants need to ride the same physical network and that is when you deploy vrf to provide path isolation and separate route table for each tenant.
