VSL - 6880 using built in chassis ports

I have a 2 x 6880x with only the built in 16 ports on the chassis.

If I create the VSL link between these using 2 ports from each chassis, does this render the other ports to a disabled state that cannot be used? Or does this info refer only to ports on an additional switching module if added to chassis?

I have been reading this info in the following doc.

So reading this, each port groups can only have 8 ports? Are the port groups something that are preconfigured/decided or can you move ports between port groups?
