Hi all
This morning I rebooted my active VSS switch
switch 2 took the active role and all was OK
Once switch 1 was back up, I failed the supervisor back over to switch 1
I noticed the following output
LOCAL 1 UP FALSE(N ) 150(150) ACTIVE 0 0
REMOTE 2 UP FALSE(N ) 110(110) STANDBY 9341 9459
LOCAL 1 UP FALSE(N ) 150(150) ACTIVE 0 0
REMOTE 2 UP FALSE(N ) 110(110) STANDBY 9341 9459
So, its this saying switch 1 is now back as active VSS role?
why has this happened as I thought switch 2 was the active VSS, is it because I did a switch back of the supervisor card to switch 1 ?
Cheers
Carl

Carl,
According to the output of show switch virtual role on this device it means that this switch(SwitchA) is active now.
You can check this with command:show switch virtual --- you will be able to see the switch operational role.(Active or standby).
Very good info on how the VSS stands on is ref in the link:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/12.2SX/configuration/guide/vss.html
How did you switch the supervisor back to siwtch 1?

What's the output to the command "sh redundancy"?
