Hi!
We are currently redesugnen our core networks, and we will have 2 pair of VSS systems.
Our Datacenter is located on 2 sites. We will have our VSS placed so that the active half of VSS will be palced on site 1 and the passiv half on site 2.
The problem is that we have a limted number of fiber between the sites.
One VSS will act as Core, and he other one will have all our WAN links.
Because of the limted number of fiber we dont want to wase a fiber on dual-active. On the core VSS we will use ePAgP over the distribution switches, but WAN VSS does not have any switches down stream.
So my question is. Can I use the Core VSS for ePAgP dual-active detection for WAN VSS?
The link between CORE VSS and WAN VSS will be a L3 MEC

Short answer is: yes
Any ePagP port connecting the systems can be used for dual-active detection.
