vss not working...pfc3c & pfc3cxl vss mismatch

Hello,

we are putting in production two catalyst in vss mode.

Both supervisors are running ios version s72033-adventerprisek9-mz.122-33.SXJ2.bin

When the standby chassis try to join the active chassis we get a

*Feb 2 15:11:20.397: %PFREDUN-SW2_SP-4-PFC_MISMATCH: Active PFC is PFC3C and Other PFC PFC3CXL

then the standby chassis goes straight into rommon mode...

we did the platform hardware vsl pfc mode pfc3c command on the standby + reload and got the same mismatch error

i did the show platform hardware pfc mode and both switches are showing

PFC operating mode : PFC3C

Configured PFC operating mode : PFC3C

Both supervisor has to have same PFC daughter card installed in order to operate in VSS mode.

As per table you can use either two PFC3C daghtercard sups or two. PFC3C-XL daghtercard installed supervisor to run in VSS mode.

The two supervisor engines must match exactly.

The same link also says....

If the supervisor engines are provisioned with PFC3C, the VSS will automatically operate in 3C mode, even if some of the modules are 3CXL. However, if the supervisor engines are provisioned with PFC3CXL, but some of the modules are 3C, you need to configure the VSS to operate in 3C mode. The platform hardware vsl pfc mode pfc3c configuration command sets the system to operate in 3C mode after the next restart. See the "SSO Dependencies" section for further details about this command.
