Hello,
I want to have 6509 with VSS sup 720 and PFC 3C with 1 GB for RP & SP each. I am planning to install WS-X6704-10GE with CFC and default onboard memory 256 MB. I found out that I would not have any problems between VSS and the line card according to forwarding method but I am concern about the difference between memory capacities (PFC 3C - 1 GB and 250 MB onboard memory line card).
1. Is there any issue regarding different memory capacities
2. What is the purpose of onboard line card memory in case of CFC
I will appreciate references.
Thank you for the assistance!
Best regards,
Stanley

Hi Stanley,
For VSS, you need Sup-720-VS with either 3C or 3C-XL.
Also, be aware that you can not use X6704 for your VSL link.
I would use the X6708 card (8 port 10 Gig )

Have you purchased the Sup720 yet? If not, then look at the VS-S2T-10Gb.

Thank you very much for your replies and recommendations. I am going to look at the VS-S2T-10Gb.
I am still concerned about the memory capacities.
