vtp mode off query

hello experts

do you know if 'vtp mode off' will support private vlans , extended vlans  just like 'vtp mode transparent' does ? 

is there any document indicating the same?

It states off mode supports pvlans when you try to configure it in the switch as below

%Private VLANs can only be configured when VTP is in transparent/off mode.

Theres is no real diff between off and transparent except one is ios and the other catos

Thankyou Mark , and does vtp version (1/2/3) really matters here  for above query ?

Not really as you have made the devices transparent or off so the vtp version has no impact as vtp is not in play but if not using transparent/off always try use 3 where supported as the legacy issues 1/2 faced have been removed in 3.
