Dear all,
I know what the LINK-3-UPDOWN message means. But I don't know what exactly does the additional SP means in
LINK-SP-3-UPDOWN
Is it just SPanning-Tree ?
Many thanks
Juergen

This is just an indication that the link went UP/DOWN and that the message was generated by the Switch processor ( as apposed to the route processor which will have RP in the syslog ).
thanks
Salman.

any syslog messages that have SP in them are generated by Switch Processor . Are you seeing this message on a 6k ?
Thanks
Salman.

Yes
IOS (tm) c6sup2_rp Software (c6sup2_rp-DSV-M), Version 12.1(26)E, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
cisco WS-C6509 (R7000) processor (revision 3.0) with 112640K/18432K bytes of memory.
So it is not a hint to a trunk going UPDOWN ?
Only an interface UPDOWN message for a special device, i.e. a C6k ?
Is that correct ?
Many thanks
