Wi-Fi implementation

Hi All,

I will be looking at implementing brand new network at one of our offices with about 300 users in September.

I will need to implement a solution that can support multiple SSIDs, PoE, multiple vLANs, dual band and can be managed with a wireless controller preferably to avoid going around each single AP to make changes. This wireless solution will need to allow our wireless VoIP phones to make phone calls providing QoS.

I am completely new to Cisco wireless so any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

This project will include provision of APs, switches to interconnect and probably a router as default gateway or maybe ASA. Not too sure what will be more suitable in this kind of scenario. Also our VoIP system is hosted by third party so we will be connecting to outside system.

Hi,

This a whole new design. Contact your local Cisco sales rep to setup meeting to discuss the features and functionality you need. If you are new to Cisco product, you may want to hire a consultant or ask Cisco to help you with the design. They will be more than happy to sale you products.

If you need to deploy this by September, you should start the discussion sooner than later.  You need sometimes for product presentation.  You also need sometimes for evaluation and design. Next comes ordering and lead time and finally deployment.

BTW, we tested a couple Cisco 5500 wireless controllers in the lab.  They are pretty solid.
