Will "no int vlanXX" effect the L2 topology?

I have what is probably a very simple question, I just want to make sure this is going to work they way I think it is.

I have a 6509 with dual MSFC2s doing intervlan routing. I want to remove one of my routing interfaces from the MSFC and let our firewall take over the default gatway address for that network.

My question is:  If i do a "no interface vlanXX" on both MSFC will that effect the L2 vlan configuration on that 6509 in any way?  I just need to verify that this command with remove ONLY the L3 svi and leave the switchports in the proper VLAN.

Tom,

You are correct. Removing the SVI using the command no interface vlan X removes only the SVI but it has no effect on the existence and/or operation of the VLAN itself.

Best regards,

Peter
