I have 2 routers I am trying to connect through Wirless link (7609-FO-copper-Wirless-copper-2651XM) the interfaces in both sides are up/up but they can't "see" each other through cdp nor route packets. the obvious suspect was the wirles link (pair of ubiquiti Nano beams tested ok with a switches) but they use WDS (transparent bridging). the routers are managed from the tech staff at the main office and swear they are properly configured. ¿what could be wrong?

Any number of things could be wrong but it is impossible to say with the details you have provided.
How are the ports on the two devices configured, are they in the same IP subnet, what does the arp table on each device show when you try to ping etc etc.
If you can rule out any misconfiguration on the two routers then it must be the wireless.

First i'd start saying I'm more of a switching guy than routing. A general question before configurations, is CDP protocol independent of vlans? Would a misconfigured vlan prevent the router from receiving cdp packets?
There is a working link via the serial interface in the 2611 and fa1/1 is the port to the local access switch, I'm trying to set up the new link via the fa0/0 interface.
the interfaces config is as follows:

2611 IP=172.16.52.86
pinging from either side to the other is unsuccesful, pinging the 2611 to its own addres .86 is successful, pinging 7609 to its own addres .85 is unsuccesful.
I find odd that at the 2611 "show vlans" shows vlan 2107 & "show vlan-switch" does not
Thanks.

Does it need to be a trunk link ie. are you passing other vlans across that link as well ?
If not why not simply make the ports routed ports at both ends ?
Jon

Yes, there are 3 Vlans passing tru.
04-21-2017 06:26 AM
Sorry to keep going on about this but why route the vlans on the router when it would be far more efficient to route them on the 7600 ?
Anyway that aside the 7600 should be able to ping it's own IP address so I would start looking there first.

Yeah, I found that odd too. omg I'll have to talk to the main office, they kind of hate when I imply they are in any way wrong :/
I'll post any findings.
