Hello,
I'm upgrading our core infrastructure for my organization and need to change the VLAN identifier on one of the interfaces on our WLC8540. Is it possible to change change the VLAN identifier number to what I want? I see you can edit the VLAN identifier. I was told from a colleague we may have to create a new interface.
The IP address/subnet will be staying the same I just need to change the VLAN identifier.
Also sorry if the label is wrong, the site doesn't show anything for wireless.
Thank you,

Sure you can do whatever you like, as long as the WLAN and VLAN are tagged correctly.

Hi
It is possible but you will have to do this in a Maitenance window. Pretty sure that when you try to edit the Vlan the WLC will inform you that the Vlan is in use and you need to shutdown the network first. Then, you need to shutdown the SSID before change the Vlan.

And this would ONLY affect that VLAN interface correct? This is a guest wifi network of ours so there's not a "huge" production impact but I just want to make sure it doesn't affect/take down other VLAN interfaces.
From the text at the bottom of the VLAN interface screen on the WLC GUI it seems like it would only take down that one specific VLAN interface.

yes that is only related to VLAN config you doing, so service will effect only for that SSID / WLAN / VLAN.
