WS-C2950C-24 10/100 ports with 2 100BASE-FX module will support for Catalyst 2960 24 10/100 + 2T/SFP

HI Team,

 we have WS-C2950C-24 10/100 ports with 2 100BASE-FX   suddenly this switch is got faulty and we are going to replacing for following switch Catalyst 2960 24 10/100 + 2T/SFP .. My doubt is c2950 fx module will support for 2960 2t.sfp.. Please clarify on this.

are you asking what sfps the newer 2960 supports ? if so this doc shows each modle and the specific sfps 2960-s support at 100mb

  Thanks for your response but still i am getting some confuse, whether 2950 100 base fx port will support 2960 2T/SFP  . Please confirm.. since we are going to replace to 2960 24-Tc-l switch.

This is the exact 100mb sfps that the WS-C2960-24TC-L supports , if its not listed there then it not officially supported

Hi,

Catalyst WS-C2950C-24 contains 2 FIXED (ie. no sfp) 100BASE-FX ports. With Catalyst WS-C2960-24TC-L you can use either GLC-FE-100FX or GLC-GE-100FX and these will co-operate.
