Hi, Im configuring a switch model WS-C2960G-48TC-L and GigabitEthernet0/45 - 48 which has both RJ45 and fiber port available. I'm connecting to the RJ45 port and i'm wondering if there is any special command required because i cant get the port working, it will show as "not connected". The port is already unshut:
interface GigabitEthernet0/47
description MY00XR01 Gi0/11
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,500
switchport mode trunk
udld port aggressive
storm-control broadcast level 25.00
!
interface GigabitEthernet0/48
description MY00XR02 Gi0/11
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,500
switchport mode trunk
media-type rj45
duplex full
storm-control broadcast level 25.00
sh interface status
Gi0/47 Gi0/11 notconnect 1 auto auto 10/100/1000BaseTX
Gi0/48 Gi0/11 notconnect 1 full auto 10/100/1000BaseTX
However when i apply the same config on interface GigabitEthernet0/43 - 44, the port immediately came up and CONNECTED :
interface GigabitEthernet0/43
description MY00XR01 Gi0/11
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,500
switchport mode trunk
udld port aggressive
storm-control broadcast level 25.00
!
interface GigabitEthernet0/44
description MY00XR02 Gi0/11
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,500
switchport mode trunk
udld port aggressive
storm-control broadcast level 25.00
>>sh interface status
Gi0/43 MY00XR01 Gi0/11 connected trunk a-full a-1000 10/100/1000BaseTX
Gi0/44 MY00XR02 Gi0/11 connected trunk a-full a-1000 10/100/1000BaseTX

Do you have any SFP modules in ports Gi0/47 and Gi0/48?

Hi Leo, There are no SFP modules connected to Gi0/47 and 48. So do you mean these 4 ports with fiber capability will not work unless an SFP connected to it on top? Thx

No, it means that you can either use copper OR SFP.
And what IOS version is your switch running on?

IOS captured from the switch, im just wondering if there is some special commands required for these 4 ports with dual capabilities..
