WS-C2960L-SM-24PS factory reset not possible

Hello together,
I have the problem that my smart-managed Switch wants to have a enable password when the switch starts and I type ena.
I have never defined this and the "cisco" and leaving it blank is not working.

So I installed the newest IOS for this model 15.2(7)E11 and booted it into the rommon modus because many internet articles said, that I could do some tricks with flash_init....
But at the rommon modus I can only type these commands:

The system has been interrupted. The following commands will finish loading the operating system software:.

boot

switch:
boot -- Load and boot an executable image
cat -- Concatenate (type) file(s)
copy -- Copy a file
delete -- Delete file(s)
dir -- List files in directories
format -- Format a filesystem
help -- Present list of available commands
memcpy -- Copy from file to memory
memdump -- Dump memory
memory -- Present memory heap utilization information
mkdir -- Create dir(s)
more -- Concatenate (display) file(s)
nand -- nand utility - check bad blocks
rename -- Rename a file
reset -- Reset the system
rmdir -- Delete empty dir(s)
set -- Set or display environment variables
sleep -- Pause (sleep) for a specified number of seconds
type -- Concatenate (type) file(s)
unset -- Unset one or more environment variables
-- MORE --
version -- Display boot loader version

I see in many tuturials and screenshots that there are two more commands (additionaly to the boot) called flash_init and load_helper
But these two commands are not present in my case.

Could you please help me with the described problem and solve the issue with the required insert of an ena password for exactly this mentioned switch model?

Best regards
Markus

Try this:

boot flash:c2960l-universalk9-mz.152-7.E11.bin

The switch always booting into this firmware. I did that to upgrade the old one and had the hope that the initially described problem will be solved with that.
Poorly, the problem is still there, that I have to enter an "enable password" which is not working. Even with "cisco", "Cisco", "password", "admin" and so on.... The old password is not known and therefore I would like to reset the switch to clear the enable password force.

Do you have a saved copy of the running config or the startup config? I believe that you should be able to use the password recovery procedure to boot the switch ignoring the current config. Then you use the copy of the config to load into the switch, and then you can configure an enable password (and be careful to save the revised config).

Hi Richard,
the data who is on the switch does not matter. I just want to have my switch resetted to the factory defaults.
I do not find the password recovery procedure for exactly this smart-managed switch model. All tutorials in this regard, were not working. Which procedure (Link) do you exactly mean?

Best regards

Perhaps the link in this post will be helpful - https://community.cisco.com/t5/switching/help-switch-2960-reset-no-password/td-p/1716517

No, because the referenced cli commands in it, are not available.

For example "switch: flash_init" (like I mentioned in the initial post)

15.2(7)E11 is a fairly new release.

Answer this question:  Is password-recovery set to "disable" in the config?

no, it is enabled.
