WS-C6504-E Line card compatibility

I have a "WS-C4506-E" with "WS-X4748-UPOE+E" line cards. I want to deploy those line cards to "WS-C6504-E" switch. Is it compatible with WS-C6504-E switch?

I'm afraid not.

The WS-X4748-UPOE+E is a Catalyst 4500E series line card that is designed to work only in 4500E series chassis. and WS-C6504-E is part of the Catalyst 6500 series, which uses a completely different architecture and backplane.

The line cards between Catalyst 4500E and 6500 series are not interchangeable, even if the form factors look similar.

Catalyst line cards are mutually exclusive:  Catalyst 4k line cards are exclusive to the Catalyst 4k chassis and vice versa. 

4k line cards are shallower compared to 6k line cards and the pins are completely incompatible.

No, confirming @ilay and @Leo Laohoo answers.

As both described, the Catalyst 4500 and 6500 series are quite different.

BTW, even within both those series you cannot use all cards in all chassis slots however you want.
