X2-10GB-SR not working on WS-X6708-10GE

Hello Community,

I have a problem with my core switch (two WS-C6509-V-E in VSS). I tried installing new SFP "X2-10GB-SR" in port Te2/7/7 and the SFP not recognized. SFP not shown in the "show inventory" or "show idprom" and port keep showing "orange" even after shut down the port. I tried with two different New SPF and keep getting same result. Also, I tried same SFP on different chassis -I have in lab- and SFP recognized fine -so should have no problem on the SFP itself-.

I tried same SFP in the second switch (in the same VSS) and got same result. SFP not recognized and not showing in the "show inventory".

I already have SFP from the same model installed on the module and running fine as shown in the below show inventory below -so should have no compatibility issue- .

I am suspecting the problem from the module. I am not sure why observing the same behavior on two modules on two switches (but the same VSS).

Any one faced the same problem? How we can fix this?
