Adding quick set C20 TC4 to CUCM 11.5

Hi,

We have a Quick Set with sw version TC 4.0

We need to register it to CUCM but it didn't register after adding it

I see we may need to upgrade to get it provisioned with CUCM as CUCM isn't available in provisioning menu. only TMS and call way.

I have 4 questions

1. Am I right about it won't work with CUCM with TC4 version and we need to upgrade ?

2. If the upgrade from TC4 to the current release TC7 is free as I see we may need a release key . Is it a license ?

3. Can I register it to Microsoft Lync or skype directly in SIP ?

4. Final question is to confirm that I need a telepresence room license on CUCM and there is no other way for it to register with the CUCM ?

Correct, the RNs show that 4.x only supports VCS for SIP registrar, 5.x shows CUCM 8.6 and 9.0 as compatible SIP registrar

On 4, I don't believe that equipment is considered a TP room when it comes to licensing.

Assuming your 3rd party control accepts registration of 3rd party devices as SIP endpoints, yes it *might* be possible to register it.
