hi,

i would like to know if there is any feature in tms that can auto dial into the conference? for example, if someone schedule the conference in tms, can the endpoints make call to the destination automatically?

also, does tms support all polycom endpoints?

thanks.

TMS will auto dial when "Automatic Connect" type is selected on the booking page when creating the conference.  At least one system that will host the conference must be added and managed by TMS, be it an MCU, TelePresence Server, or endpoint.

Can you tell us a bit more of how your scheduling your conferences in TMS, and what devices you're trying to schedule with?

TMS does support some Polycom systems, but I don't recall what all they are though.  I believe HDX Series is supported, Group Series is not.

Hello

Following are the option for end points connection

Type

How the conference will connect:

  • Automatic ConnectCisco TMS will automatically connect all the participants at the specified time and date.
  • One Button to Push: Conference dial-in information will be presented automatically on endpoints that support One Button to Push an email with conference information including the dial-in number will be sent to the conference owner to forward to these participants.
  • Manual Connect: At the specified time and date, the system listed as the VC.Master will be prompted to begin the call. The call will connect automatically when the VC.Master initiates the call.
  • No Connect: This option will reserve the room(s) and generate the call route, but will not connect the conference. These are the alternative ways to connect if this option is chosen:
    • The conference can be started by clicking Connect for the participants in Conference Control Center.
    • I there are only two participants in the conference, one can call the other.
    • If the conference is booked with an MCU, all participants must dial in.
  • Reservation: This option will reserve the system(s) but will not initiate any connections or generate a call route. If the booking contains one or more MCUs, all ports on the MCU(s) will be reserved for the conference.

As Patrick has said, yes, TMS can be set to automatically connect (and disconnect) the endpoints - this is one of the key uses of the TMS scheduling.

As for support for Polycom devices - that all depends on the TMS version - the newer versions (TMS 14.2 onwards) have dropped support for some of the older Polycom Devices (Polycom Viewstation 1st and 2nd Gen, Polycom iPower and Polycom ViaVideo) - see the TMS Release Notes (Page 24).

The VSX and HDX series are still supported (we have both as part of our current environment).

The newer Group Series, as mentioned by Patrick, are not supported (although can be configured as a "Room") - See https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12078226/tms-version-1431-and-polycom-group-series-700 - or you can ask Polycom to add support for TMS to their endpoint software ;)

"Group Series is not"

True, however, these can be added as "Rooms", so you will at least be able to schedule calls to these, but not from.
