I am having problems with poor voice qaulity (crackling sound) when using my ip phones across the WAN. The codec in use is G.711. I would like to know how to troubleshoot & resolve this issue.
Thanks

hi
do revert what kinda WAN connectivity is deployed between your locations?
have u observed any kinda bandwidth crunch on that link ?
do you have any kinda qos mechanism configured between your locations ?
what all are the traffic patterns being passed between these lcoations ?
also revert with the kinda of switches in which the ip phones are connected and the kinda of routers being used for the WAN connectivitiy ..
if possible do post out the switch and router configs without any sensitive info ..

Check your Codec is correct.
Run a trace on the affected numbers.
Run debugs on the whilst the traces are active and check that this problem re-occurs.
Contact your local PSTN operator to run a check on your line.
