I have an MXP1700 and trying to break the boot process.
Using a standard PC with a DP9 comm port it works when I select CTRL Break from my keyboard.
I have a LAPTOP with no Break button and can't get the system to stop the boot process using the ALT B or ALT + B ???
The cable is using a USB to DB9 adapter as the laptop doesn't have a comm port.
Any other commands I can try to break the boot process???
On a side note the MXP1700 isn't booting up.
When I check the selectsw #1 or #2 it displays "invalid" on each .. like it's not recognizing the firmware on either partition.
I have never loaded the SW using Xmodem .. is there a procedure I can get to perform that process???
Thanks.

As for sending the break character, the key sequence (or in some cases a menu item) will depend on which terminal emulator software you're using (TeraTerm, HyperTerminal, Putty, etc). You'll need to check in the software you're using on how to send the Break character.,
For both your software images showing as invalid, it sounds like your flash is corrupt. You could try an "eee" reset which may help to recover it, but from having a similar problem previously, it's likely you'll need a hardware replacement.
