C40 Audio bridging capacity

We're currently using our C40's to host multisite video calls, but I just got the devices configured to easily receive/make audio only calls.  We purchase the Multisite option key with each of our devices, so my question is: what is the maximum number of audio users which can be bridged into a multisite call on the C40?  Is it still limited by the four site restriction of the Multisite license, or is it capable of handling more since it's as an audio-only participant?

I would think that you'd still be limited to the maximum of the codec, whether it was with or without multisite.  I wish there was some way of telling what the current call capacity was either on the codec's web interfrace and/or OSD.

Thanks Martin!  I checked just before I made that comment, and didn't see it on a unit running TC6.2, however I could have very well and obviously I did miss it.

Jesse: 3 (audio or video) + 1 (audio only) call = max 4

If you have a big demand for (bigger) audio only conferences what do you think of

investigating what Cisco infrastructure (CUCM / MCU / ...)  or other  3rd party producs can offer you

Martin--adding in audio calls directly on the codecs is a new feature I just setup for our environment, so I'm really not sure how much it will be used yet.  But we do have a MCU in place already, and it should be set up to scale up to the MCU if it goes over that number.  Mainly, I had just been asked by quite a few users about the limit, and as I also apparently overlooked that wording in the web/cmd interface, didn't know the answer.

Thank you for setting the thread to answered.

Yes, its definitely a handy feature to have phone integration working with the endpoints.

There is no real good way if you want to use mutisite on the endpoint to escalate that call

to the mcu if your internal bridge gets full. (besides telling everyone, please go to my

virtual meeting room on the mcu).

Maybe some "redirect all calls" with a direct button to a users meeting room could be a handy feature request.

Besides that if you have a cisco codian style mcu and a vcs you could also use multiway, but

then you would need to disable multisite.

On the mcu you can set a room to allow additional audio only participants which saves you some

licenses on it which can be handy as well.
