Cisco ATA 187 + SIP

Hi All, our Call Manager does not support the new ATA 187's as yet as we need an upgrade, there is an upgrade in the pipe line but its not for a while yet as we need to upgrade ARC and Unitiy too.

Is there a way to change the 187 SIP to SCCP?

Hi Martyn,

I am afraid that it is not like the older version where we can change the protocol in them.

ATA 187 is designed to support only SIP and it is built in and cannot be changed.

This really sucks. I was hoping there's a way to have them register as SCCP devices. I'm having lots of trouble with 187s but not with 186s

After the long push for an upgrade on our CUCM I know find out that Franking machines will not work on the 187's and we now need to purchase VG202's, why do the 187's not support modem pass-through?
