We have Cisco/ Tandberg EP dialing polycom HDX EP via SIP on the same VCS infracstructure. There is a Firewall between them.
Have been informed that there has been no Change on the firewall.
Had been working for 3 months.
Cisco calls Polycom No Video
Polycom Calls Cisco successful.
Firmware Cisco 7.2.1
Polycom 3.1.5
Any one had similar issues?

I passed this issue on to the network engineers suspecting either one of the ports is being blocked or a truck % of traffic is too small for video streams and is just being blocked despite QOS

Hi
I cannot remember the specific bug number but TC7.2.1 have some issues with dialing polycom. I had a case recently on this and the issue is resolved in TC7.3.2. Can you try to upgrade and re-test? I have reproduced your scenario on TC7.2.1 and it does not happen on TC7.3.x. Thanks.

Do you get audio and no video when Cisco calls Polycom?
Is there any packet loss or jitter?
If you have no packet loss and your are getting 2-way audio and no or one way video this is very likely a firewall issue.
If there is no audio and no video then it could be other issues at play.
What does the call look like on the VCS - any issues? Are you calling by IP or Alias?

Hi James,
We get audio only when Cisco calling Polycom?
Is there any packet loss or jitter?
Yes one way polycom to cisco
If you have no packet loss and your are getting 2-way audio and no or one way video this is very likely a firewall issue.
release notes from Cisco and Polycom state the following:
From Cisco 7.2.1 release notes.
Polycom HDX 8000HD
3.0.5 H.323/SIP
SIP Transfer does not work (not supported by
Polycom).
H323 transfer reported as “cannot connect” even
when successful.
SIP BFCP/TCP has flaws. This is fixed in Polycom
HDX 3.0.5 and later because BFCP/UDP will be
Preferred.
From Polycom 3.1.5 release notes
Interoperability
Cisco
VIDEO-111656 During Cisco video conferences, HDX system calls connected at only
64 kbps and did not transmit video. This problem has been corrected.
Cisco
VIDEO-104731 3.1.0 When an HDX system called
into the Cisco EX90, the HDX
system warning on the local
interface stated that the call
failed due to an encryption
requirement on the far-end site.
On the HDX system where
the call originates, set the
encryption to Off and
update. Next, set
encryption to When
available and update
If there is no audio and no video then it could be other issues at play.
What does the call look like on the VCS - any issues?
VCS showing No issues
Are you calling by IP or Alias? Calling via SIP

Good Morning
Audio and no video...sometimes one way video...Usually see some jitter ( less than 5ms )
no packet loss.
Don't think there is a firewall in the way but will check
Calls are usually URI selected from directory by end user. But i have tested using IP and switch back and forth between SIP and H323
Still see no video in stat view.
I see from another post that i need to check Polycom software version
A fix was applied after 5.0.1
Thanks Very Much For The Feedback
Richard
