You can use USB Thumb Drive for the 5300 to upgrade the main image.

Take USB Thumb Drive and format as FAT

Take main image and rename to: kupgrade

Unplug MCU

Connect USB Drive

Plug MCU.

Theory here is, it should read from the USB and notice the file named: kupgrade

Once you see on the console it start to extract and unload the package, remove the USB.

------------------------------------------------------

Before even doing that, you can try and reset_config the unit.

When you see "hit ctrl c to break", type in: reset_config y

See if this will reset the unit back to default.

Otherwise, you may need to open a TAC Case to investigate further.

Is this where it gets stuck, or does it go round and round? The last time it failed was due to power.  If the system is in in constant reboot, can you capture a few more?

Hey Patrick,

Thanks for your reply.

This is the exact point where it gets stuck and doesnt move forward. Last time it didnt failed due to power, it was stuck in the same state and after waiting for quite a long time we hard rebooted it.

These are the exact logs we have extracted after multiple attempts. Please help in this regard.

HI Mansoor.  So quick question, from reading this, the DSP's have started and it seems to me the unit is ready to go.

1) On the front, is it still in Red Alarm while in this state?

2) Can you navigate to the IP Address of the system?

3) Can you type in anything at the console? Like: status, or service show?

Seems to me the system is up.  Can you verify the above questions?

Many thanks Patrick for your follow up. Please refer to answers of your questions as below:

1) On the front, is it still in Red Alarm while in this state?

The front panel shows absolutely no alarm and status shows GREEN.

2) Can you navigate to the IP Address of the system?

It is devoid of any configurations, absolutely nuke.

3) Can you type in anything at the console? Like: status, or service show?

The unit is not letting to type anything through console, it is stuck as shown in the attached log file.

System is up and running but the issue is that it cannot be configured via console and it is not giving the prompt too.

Mansoor

Thanks. I'm going to go out on a limb here and ask you to try a different PC if its possible.

The box seems to be ok in the sense that its up and running with no alarms.  I can't confirm that the MCU is at fault.  If this is a brand new system, I wouldn't think the security settings would be enabled on this, if this is the case.

I've seen a computer connection do this before and even the terminal session he was using causing a problem.  It would just freeze up.

I'd like for you to try a different computer if possible, may be use a different terminal session if possible.

I just can't "see" anything wrong with the unit.  RMA'ing may not even solve the problem your facing either, so I'd suggest you try a different PC and let us know.

Well, I have tried a couple of PCs to connect, changed the console cable and even opened multiple terminal sessions but all in vain.

I think upgrading / reflashing the device OS might solve the issue. But that is also not going to happen until it gives any prompt over the console connection.

Mansoor
