Cisco Telepresence Mic 60

Hi ,

Has anyone used a Mic 60 in an integration. I've got a Customer who's got several in stock and wants to use them in his conference room. They would need to be controlled using Creston and go through a Bi Amp Tesira.

Thanks

Rai

Take note that microphone 60 needs a phantom power 12V/48V to make it work and not a standard 3 pin wires (+, -, Ground). It uses 4 pins (+, -, Ground, muting control). It is designed proprietary with SX80 codec and other Cisco MX series endpoints. If you will connect it to BiAmp using 3 pins only without the muting pin, not sure if it will work and will provide power on the microphone.

The BiAmp Tesira/Nexia/Audia products can all provide Phantom Power to the microphone and use the same Euroblock style connector, so yes, there should be no issues connecting the microphones to the Tesira.  We use the Tesira, Nexia and Audia products widely in our room deployments (although haven't used the Table 60 microphones - we use other third party mics).  The only thing that may not function would be the mute button/light.

Mics work well with the BiAmp , the only downside is that the LED doesn't light up. Customer is pleased that he didn't have to purchase other mics and the quality is great.

Thank you for your feedback..
