Cisco Telepresence SX-80 Timing out

Good morning:

We have a Cisco Tele presence SX-80 CODEC that is timing out (Screen going dim) while in a call or even not in a call. The screen goes dim and the Touch panel goes dark and drops connections with the shared resources we are using during the conference. This was configured during the initial installation and has operated for at least 12-18 months and now all of sudden this is happening during meetings without any intervention on our previous settings.

Please advise if you can. and we can forward error logs if needed.

The SX80 going in to standby mode when it's not in a call would be considered normal. 

Doing it while it is in a call doesn't sound right though.

Is the software on the SX80 up to date?  Are you running the TC7.x or CE8.x software?

Certainly not right if the screen is going dim during a call.

Are you sure it's the standby mode from the Cisco endpoint that is cause?

It would be a good idea to check on the energy saving/power saving settings of the screen itself. The screen may be incorrectly going into an energy save mode and then the SX80 drops the call.
