We have an SX10 that is not recognizing signals from the TRC6 remote.
This remote is working with another SX10, so the issue seems to be at the endpoint.
I've compared settings on both endpoints and have mirrored the non-working codec to the one that is responsive to the remote to no avail.
The codec has also been restarted with no luck.
Is there a setting that we are missing or is it possible that the codec is faulty?

Is the IR sensor on the front of the SX10 blocked? The SX10 installation guide, on pg 6 shows where it is located.
If you log into the SX10 via SSH and run the following commands:
log ctx IRSensor debug 9
log output on
Do you see any IRSensor output like below? My SX10 was in standby and this is from me picking the remote up and hitting a few keys.
22435.07 IRSensor receive read event of 16 bytes
22435.07 IRSensor IRKeyHandler::keyEvent IRId = 0x0, IRCode = 0x3f
22435.07 IRSensor IRKeyHandler::sendKeyEvent key=0x2f down=1
22435.07 IRSensor Scheduling key release in 70 milliseconds
22435.09 MainEvents I: LeavingStandby()
22435.09 VSS-SRC I: [CAM]: omx camera transition to state 3 complete
22435.10 VIDEOLC-0 I: PowerManagement, request power save off
Don't forget to turn off logging, and change the debug # back to 0 when done.

Thank you for the suggestion!
I went ahead and ran the log commands via SSH (Putty), but didn't get any feedback from the codec that had to do with the IRSensor.

So after you entered the above commands, and tried the remote, nothing related to IRSensor appeared in the output? If not, it might sounds like it could be something with the SX10, if the remote is working with other SX10 codecs. If the codec has a valid support contract, might want to open a case so Cisco can help looking more into it. I checked the admin guide for the SX10 and there are no options related to the remote or IR Sensor, so it's not a matter of it getting turned off like on other codecs.

That's correct - nothing related to the IR sensor appeared in the log output when trying the remote. Opening a service request - will update thread with solution (or RMA) for others' reference.

Not sure, the SX10 has a new compact remote.
Does this one work on the old style of codecs?
Anyone checked that the old style of remotes are supported at all?
(it could be still different hardware or software releases).

Older TRC remotes will work, I have a C20 in the office using a TRC5 remote with my SX10 that uses the new TRC6 remote. I found out the funny way that either remote will work for either codec, running TC software, as I made a call to myself by mistake because the remote for one was controlling the other and started a call.
