I am having a problem using this commande,

I want to change my complexity, and the mashine answers this:

TOTO(config-voicecard)#codec comp high

% Can't change codec complexity while voice port exist.

% Please remove all voice ports on this voice card first

% before changing codec complexity.

TOTO(config-voicecard)#

so to remove the carde I do no voice carde....

and it says, hey... you can not do this man.

So if someone has the answer....

Thankx in advence

Hi,

What you need to do is the following:

go under the voice-port and issue "shutdown"

then go to the controller t1 or e1 card and remove the pri-group or ds0-group.

Then, go back into the voice-card and change the codec complexity.

Here is an example:

G200-1#s voice dsp

DSP DSP DSPWARE CURR BOOT PAK TX/RX

TYPE NUM CH CODEC VERSION STATE STATE RST AI VOICEPORT TS ABORT PACK COUNT

==== === == ======== ======= ===== ======= === == ========= == ===== ============

C549 004 01 {medium} 4.0.26 IDLE idle 0 0 1/0:23 01 0 0/0

02 {medium} 4.0.26 IDLE idle 0 1/0:23 13 0 0/0

C549 005 01 {medium} 4.0.26 IDLE idle 0 0 1/0:23 02 0 0/0

02 {medium} 4.0.26 IDLE idle 0 1/0:23 14 0 0/0

C549 006 01 {medium} 4.0.26 IDLE idle 0 0 1/0:23 03 0 0/0

02 {medium} 4.0.26 IDLE idle 0 1/0:23 15 0 0/0

C549 007 01 {medium} 4.0.26 IDLE idle 0 0 1/0:23 04 0 0/0

02 {medium} 4.0.26 IDLE idle 0 1/0:23 16 0 0/0

C549 008 01 {medium} 4.0.26 IDLE idle 0 0 1/0:23 05 0 0/0

So, the voice card is medium complexity.

Need to change to high complexity.

Hi..I need to change the codec complexity from default high to medium on my 1760V router.

The codec complexity medium & voice-card command is an unknown command on this 1760 router and seems to work on only 2600s and higher.

Does anyone know how to do this??? If it involves a change and selecting a different IOS than my current of IP Plus image... pls tell which image do i require?

Thanks...

Here is an output from a 1760 running 12.3.8T

voice-card 0

!

voice-card 1

!

voice-card 3

!

1760(config)#voice-card 0

1760(config-voicecard)#codec complexity ?

high Set codec complexity high. High complexity, lower call density.

medium Set codec complexity medium. Mid range complexity and call density.

1760(config-voicecard)#codec complexity

What version are you running, what does show voice dsp show on your router?

If I insert 2 VIC-FXO cards in my 1760V router with 1 DSP installed for 4 medium complexity calls... the second card is not at all detected.

The show voice dsp output is ....

Currently I am managing with a second DSP!! Suggest if IOS needs to change (which one should I select) or any special configuration??

Can anyone help on this? I need to know which IOS i need for ther router to detect both the FXO cards.. I need to use medium complexity and in router configuration I am not getting option to change to medium complexity from currently high.

try with:

c1700-advipservicesk9-mz.123-8.T3.bin

and set voice complexity under voice-card with

codec complexity medium
