Hi all,

i have configured VCS with 3 SX20 endpoints, i have red that i can make conference with up to 4 participants.  I was told that i can "link" these 3 endpoints and to make a conference with 12 people, is this right?

I appreciate your help

Each end-point must have the multisite option key installed.

If they do, then each end-point can connect to 3 additional sites; self + 3 = 4.

You can cascade the end-points, however, that is not an elegant solution, and it definitely won't be pretty - to say the least. I shudder to think of what this would look like if the end-points have been set to "Continous Presence" if

End-point 1 connecting to 2, 3, 4

End-point 2 connecting to 5, 6 (+ already connected to 1)

End-point 3 connecting to 8, 9 (+ already connected to1)

You can do variations of the above, but regardless of how you do it, it will not be very nice.

Much better solution would be to use a proper MCU, if you don't want to invest in your own, then a hosted service would be a very good option.

Yea, i would aslo not go that way, because its not a real "linking".

People would see different kinds of layout of the conferencing picuture.

If you are connected in such kind of "cascased" multisite and you would speak

up the others on the end of the chain woud only see him quite small and so on.

Just picture that your screen is devided into multiple pars showing the remote

video and one of the shared ones is then again shared in multiple screens ...

You (or better your users) will not be happy with it!

Also consider the traffic flow and the available bandwidth you need.

On an MCU all participants are getting the best experiance. Look into the 5320 MCU:
