hi,
i need help in configuring voip traffic over the WAN.Our WAN is a fibre connection, running OSPF. i know how to configure the edge devices, but not sure as how to configure the wan devices to handle the voip traffic. i was thinking of enabling autoqos on the edge devices and enable the giga bit port to "trust" voip traffic.
please help

You need to use LLQ for WAN. Depending on the WAN BW you may also need to use LFI.
Please refer QoS SRND from Cisco site to find the required commands.
Please let me know, if you have any specific questions.
Thanks,
Prem

Hi Premanand,
Thanks for your response, but i still need bit more info.
Our WAN backbone is a gigabit (fibre), therefore we dont have to worry too much about the LFI.
All i want is, the VOIP traffic to go through the backbone with maybe configured as PQ. Our WAN devices are all 3550 EMI. I would ideally like to get a hold of a sample configuration so i could test the configuration on my test lab before i could deploy it to the production network.

Hi,
you right you don't need LFI and LLQ. BTW you can't configure LLQ on the 3550. You cant configure LLQ on the routers or on the Cats. 6500 WAN ports. On the 3-58 page QoS SRND you have best practice config for your scenario.
Only think you need to do is to put voice traffic into PQ.
Rgrds.
