Hello everyone,
Recently we made a change to vcs over the network and lost network connectivity ... I have the box physically in front of me .... How should I go around changing the IP address ???
Should I console into it ?. If so; what will be the commands I will need to use ...
Thx for your help !!!

Hi Rizwiz,
you can login through console as admin and try to run the below commands
*c xConfiguration IPProtocol: IPv4
*c xConfiguration Ethernet 1 IP V4 Address: "ip-address of vcs "
*c xConfiguration Ethernet 1 IP V4 SubnetMask: "subnet mask"
*c xConfiguration IP Gateway: "default gateway"
if you can't login as admin..
you can also login as root and run the commands tsh..it will take you to admin login.
Thanks

By the way you can also assign the ip using the front panel LCD and reboot the server..
also check the below install guide and check page 5 & 6 for the process.
Thanks

That's great ..... Also just in case if we wanted to factory reset the vcs; since it is a lab vcs, how would I do it ??
Thx again ....

from the root login you can run the command "factory-reset"
it will ask you what all you want to retain..based on the vcs version you are running..
you can also try the variant command "factory-reset -i"
Thanks

if the box is in front of you, you could use the keypad and LCD screen, though I find that a bit tedious.
If you can go in on the console you can log in as admin and run the commands:
xConfiguration Ethernet 1 IP V4 Address:
xConfiguration Ethernet 1 IP V4 SubnetMask:
xConfiguration IP Gateway:
with the correct values after the colon (:)
