Connecting Standalone SX20 running CE9.15 to encrypted Zoom meeting?

Hello all,

I have an SX20 endpoint running CE9.15 that I have used to call Webex meetings.  I need to start calling a colleague via Zoom meetings, and the Zoom host does not permit unencrypted H.323 or SIP connections.  Zoom uses AES-256 encryption.

From my understanding, the SX20 gained AES-256 encryption support with CE8.3.

Yet, even when using Zoom's SIP dialing command for AES-256 encryption, the connection is unencrypted per messages in the Zoom meeting and the SX20s call web interface.

What configurations do I need to enable to use AES-256 bit encryption, or is this just not possible?

Hello again,

I used another means to solve the issue.  Registering the endpoint with my Webex account unlocked encryption.

AFAIK, you need encryption option key installed to turn on the encryption.

The three listed available option keys in the Web GUI>Software>Option Keys are

  1. RemoteMonitoring
  2. DeveloperPreview
  3. MultiSite

Do I need to install Developer Preview to maybe have a chance of getting the ability to make encrypted calls?
