Hi folks,
Our Crestron programmers are seeing very slow response via RS232 after upgrading from TC7.3.x to CE8.0.0, like 30 seconds between button pushes. I looked for release notes on CE8.0.0 but didn't see anything on Cisco's software download area to see if there is any mention of such behavior.
Also, is it safe to downgrade the SX80 back to TC7.3.x where we know that our Crestron modules are very solid and predictable. Thanks for your time in regards to this issue.

As mentioned in the Release Notes for CE8 (and also in the CE8 is released thread) - the API changed significantly between TC7 and CE8. Unless your Crestron programmers have updated the Crestron code for all of these changes, they may not be getting the responses they expect.
Yes, it is safe to downgrade from CE8 back to TC7. Some SX20s have an issue with mic control (see the Deferral Notice), but the SX80 will be fine.

There are new Crestron modules available on the Crestron Application Market that now support CE8.x. See cisco-sx80-v2-0-for-3-series-w-cisco-firmware-ce-8-x-or-higher as an example.
