Dialling IP Addresses from SIP Client to Public IP Addresses

Hi,

        We are setting up a new video network with a VCS Control and 2 VCS Expressways. 1st Expressway pointed to the public internet address facing and 2nd Expressway facing partner network.

Requirement: Internal SIP endpoint need to dial the Public IP Address ( via 1st expressway) and Partner IP Address (via 2nd Expressway). VCS Control configured " calls to unknown IP Address" mode to "Indirect".

Both Expressways configured for " Calls to unknown IP Address" mode to " direct".

There are search rules on the VCS Control for IP Address search.

Priority 1 for the Internet IP Address via 1st Expressway

Priority 2 for the Partner Ip Address via 2nd Expressway.

Both IP Address dialling are working, but dialling to partner IP Address takes around 38Sec to complete for the call setup.

When I look at the call history on the VCS Control, i can see even for the partner IP Address search, 1st search the internet Expressway and couldn't reach the IP Address and then start to search on the Partner VCS Expressway and found the Ip Address, That way it takes more time to complete the call.

Some times, it is timing out and couldn't make a IP Address call to Partner IP Address.

is there any way, we can minismise the time for the call setup for Partner IP Address dialling.

Chris,

try disabling SIP UDP on both Expressways as this should reduce the call setup time by 30 seconds.

Hi,

We are having a similar issue but only using jabber/movi.  If dialling the same public IP address from an endpoint registered to the same VCS Control and/or Expressway, the issue does not exist and the call connects straight away, whereas when dialling with Jabber, it sometimes takes up to 40 seconds.

Any ideas?
