EX60 TCNC6.2 upgrade to TC6.2 requires Release Key.

I am trying to upgrade an EX60, shipped with TCNC6.20 to TC6.21-CUCM. After the upgrade the device complains about a missing release key. Checking the Troubleshooting page I see a valid TCNC key is installed.

How do I get this unit upgraded from NC to Full Encryption mode?

After discussions with Cisco this is what they said:

I am told today that the Global Licensing Organization has agreed to provide Release Keys for encrypted software to customers, for TC software, in areas of the world where encryption is allowed. Unencrypted software has a prefix of TCNC, while encrypted has a prefix of TC.

My recommendation is to get keys for both TC5 and TC6 from GLO, as in my case a TC6 key would not take.

1. Upgrade the codec software to TC6.3, using the proper .pkg file or COP file.  If there is a Touch, I suggest first upgrading to an interim level of TC6.1, as this may prevent issues with the Touch.

2. After this initial upgrade, enter either the TC5 or TC6 Release Key. Confirm the codec accepts it without an error message. You don't need to enter both Release Keys. As long as the codec accepts one, you have completed this step.

3. Reboot the codec.

4. For non-EX or non-MX systems, observe the Touch and make sure it upgrades its software, reboots, and connects successfully to the codec. (If there is no Touch then this does not apply.)

5. If you upgraded to TC6.1 as suggested, then upgrade one more time to TC6.3. Verify proper connection on the Touch after upgrade.

As Cisco has stated, you can upgrade to encrypted TC software and they will provide you a release key for that version, but your country must support encryption.  Does it?

Yes, all sorted after receiving the new keys. Seems the order process was the cause as there is no way to specify Encrypted or Non-Encrypted image. They will address this issue so hopefully no one else will have the same problem.
