Hello,

we have recently bought Cisco EX90 with software version TC7.0.2.aecf2d9.

We are facing a problem with presentation sharing. When we make a video call and start presentation sharing call suddenly drops. On other side is also Cisco EX90 with same software version. Device is standalone

Could someone help what should i check in device configuration?

Thanks!

Are you able to provide some more detail on your call / environment, such as:

  • What's the call rate of the call?
  • What's the bandwidth of the link between the sites?
  • What other traffic is flowing over the links at the same time (lots / none)?
  • Do you have QoS configured on your endpoints and routers/switches?
  • Are there any firewalls at either site?
  • Is there any H.323 or SIP packet inspection happening on the firewalls or routers?
  • Are you able to provide the logs from both endpoints for one of the calls that fails?

What is the Call control you are using? CUCM/VCS/none?

Q: What is the Call control you are using? CUCM/VCS/none?

The OP said that the unit is a standalone, so not connected to a CUCM or VCS.

When sharing a presentation, the system will split the bandwidth it is using between the normal video and the presentation - if the bandwidth of the call is too low, I can forsee that the call may drop.

What is the call rate of the call you are making?  What are the call stats - is there any major packet drops/jitter/etc when the original call is in process?

Are you able to update to the latest firmware version (TC7.1.4) which includes many bug fixes as well as security enhancements (including fixes for the latest OpenSSL security vulnerabilities).

This is call statistic:

Audio                            Transmit                 Receive
Packet loss                  0/8672 (0%)          6/8681 (0%)
Max jitter                      8                               2
Video                           Transmit                  Receive
Packet loss                 0/27643 (0%)        10/26314 (0%)
Max jitter                      6                              18

I'll have to check is it possible to update firmware version.

Ivan

Wayne, thanks for your suggestion. Problem was caused by firewall inspection of RSTP.

Now it works fine.
