Unless you get a better answer (possibly Danny knows some tricks).
Is the touchpad itself powered up? What does it show? Anything suspicious in xconf/xstat/logfiles?
I would double check the cable and disconnect and connect it again,
then reboot the endpoint, possibly try to do a factory reset of the ex90,
do a software upgrade and if all that did not fix it and you have a service contract,
create a Service request or RMA for it.

Hello,
touch panel not detected is rather broad description of the issue at hand. The questions Martin has asked are very relevant, notably the "is it powered on". A directly connected touch should obtain is IP address from the EX90. The EX90 acts as a DHCP server handing out address to the touch. What is shown on the touch? Does it say "Connecting" or is it totally black? Can you check the IP address of the touch? The URL below shows the menus you can use on the touch.
See page 42.
I have a whole section on troubleshooting touch panels in presentation I did at CiscoLive London. I will send you a PDF file for your reference.
Regards,
Danny.

Hi Danny
am getting the same issues as well but was wondering if you can send me the presentation you mentioned in troubleshooting with the touch panel?
Thanks
Anthony

Hello,
the slides are located at link below.
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-29766
There's a section on touch troubleshooting.
Also, current logfiles of codec will have information about touch panel.

Hi Youssef.
As Martin questioned:
1) Is the touch panel powering up?
2) Is there any messages on the screen? ( i.e no network cable connected )
If the panel is not booting - there is not much you can do other than to RMA it.

Hi every body
Thank you for your answers, the touch panel is connected directly to an EX90 and nothing is displayed on the screen except a line of volume level.
Regards.

Hello,
that sounds promising! If the volume bar is lit, it means the touch has connected to the codec.
Can you login to the codec using ssh and user admin? E.g. ssh admin@
xconfig //bright
*c xConfiguration Cameras Camera 1 Brightness Mode: Auto
*c xConfiguration Cameras Camera 1 Brightness Level: 20
*c xConfiguration Video Output LCD 2 Brightness: 50
*c xConfiguration Video ControlPanel Brightness: 100
** end
OK
The brightness needs to be set to a certain value or the touch will be dark.
What is the value you see for Video ControlPanel when you execute the above command?
I bet it is set to 1. If so, try setting it to 100.
xConfiguration Video ControlPanel Brightness: 100
** end
OK
Or, you can use the WEB GUI and point your browser to the EX90's IP address and alter the config there.
Hopefully, that's the issue your are encountering.

Hello Danny
I have the same values except :
*c xConfiguration Cameras Camera 1 Brightness Level: 1
Thanks.

OK,
so that's not the issue then.
I assumed the touch was connected. We can verify this using the following command under root access.
You first need to enable root :
systemtools rootsettings on
And the login as root and do :
[dderidde-ex90-home:~] $ netstat -p | grep endeavour
tcp 0 0 169.254.1.1:65009 endeavour.localnet:47436 ESTABLISHED 3011/sh
tcp 0 0 169.254.1.1:65008 endeavour.localnet:33629 ESTABLISHED 3017/xinetd
[dderidde-ex90-home:~] $
Normally there should be 2 TCP connection coming from the touch to the EX90.
Can you ping the touch from the codec?
[dderidde-ex90-home:~] $ ping 169.254.1.30

Did the codec hand out a lease to the touch?
[dderidde-ex90-home:~] $ cat /var/state/dhcp/dhcpd.leases

# This lease file was written by isc-dhcp-4.1.1

}
[dderidde-ex90-home:~] $
Can you get the current logfiles from your system and attach them?

Cheers,
Danny.
