Excluding a Cisco Endpoint from registering "without deleting it from TMS"

Hi all,

Is it possible to exclude a Cisco endpoint from registering via TMS without deleting it from TMS?

For example, we run a statewide government video conference network, over 1500 endpoints, we recently updated endpoint software to patch a security flaw, however there are a few systems out there that are not online so they didn't receive the update, and staff onsite cannot find the endpoint.

What we are hoping to do is exclude these endpoints from registering so that if and when they do try to be used, they do not register and do not work, prompting a phone call to our help desk.

Is this possible? I can't seem to find a way to do it so I thought I would ask.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Damian

The endpoints don't "register" with TMS - they'd register to your call control platform.  Note: even if you deleted them from TMS, unless you change the settings on the endpoints, they will still register to your call control platform with the configuration they already contain.

You could possibly use a new TMS template to reconfigure some settings on the endpoint when it boots and contacts TMS to disable the endpoint (ie assign them with a persistent template that turns H.323 and/or SIP off).  Some of this will also depend on how you have TMS set to track the endpoints, via IP address, or via MAC address to catch them when they do come online, and also whether the endpoints are able to access TMS from whatever site they are on when they do come on-line (firewalls, etc).
