Our customer sent us a defective Room Kit device (firmware version 9.14.3).
There is not output on the HDMI ports, I cannot access it's web interface, neither can I ssh into it or even see it on the switch port. A hard reset using the recessed button did not help.
I was able to connect to it via serial USB maintenance port and get some output there. The device is stuck in a boot loop. I was able to interrupt the boot process and access some sort of shell. I could find out that there is only one firmware version available on the device - the one mentioned above - so a switch to an alternate version is not available. From here I don't know how to proceed further with my effort to fix the device - I could not find any documentation on how to use that shell.
In my mind, it would make sense to flash a new firmware to the device via the USB serial connection. Does anyone know how to do that?
Other possible solutions welcome as well!
