Gen1 Audio Science Mics

If a customer has Gen1 Audio Science mics, with the XLR connector:

  1. Would Cisco part "CAB-XLR-EUROBLOCK=" allow that mic to be connected to the SX80 codec without any further complications?
  2. Is there a part number that would allow it to be connected to a Room/Room+ codec? If not, what would it take to wire it in?

Thanks.

You should be able to use a standard XLR to Phoenix/Euroblock adaptor (or you can re-wire the mic current mic cables to the euroblock directly).  You can buy these adaptor cables on-line if you don't want to make them yourself.

The pinout would be:

XLR pin 1 to Euro Block Ground and Cable Shield
XLR pin 2 to Euro Block Positive
XLR pin 3 to Euro Block Negative

You can't connect one of these directly to a SX20 or a RoomKit / RoomKit Plus endpoint, there are a few different ways to do this (none of which are officially supported).  You can see some of the ways in this thread: Cisco audio science ceiling mic and SX20
