how to dial in to vcs control endpoints without DNS

Hi,

We have a VCS Control and VCS Expressway and TMS in our network. Every things works fine including Movi. Now we have one of our client using a C60 CODEC in their network. They would like to initiatate a call to our endpoints. C60 Codec is pure IP only endpoint. There is not VCS Control in their setup.

We were able to dial out to the C60 using the public ip address of the C60 Codec. But we were not able to Dial out from the C60 codec to the endpoints regestered in our network.

example.

our endpoints number range and domain: 5xxx@exampledomain.com.

vcs expressway domain name and FQDN: exampledomain.com and video.exampledomain.com.

VCS Expressway public ip address : X.X.X.X

What is the correct pattern to dail from the C60 codec to the endpoints registered in the vcs control. is it 5xxx@X.X.X.X.

Krishna.

If you have correct SRV records in place, then both Alias@domain and Alias@VCS-E_IP_Address will work IF the C-series in question is running TC4.2 or later. (All the usual caveats re firewall at the other site applies )

If it has an earlier software version than TC4.2, then it cannot do URI dialling without being registered to a GK. (This applies to the C-series in general and is caused by no H.323_CS support prior to TC4.2).

If this is the case, then you could allow it to register to your VCS-E, which will allow it to connect to you systems using Alias only, or you could use the "Fallback Alias" function on the VCS-E allowing it to dial the IP address of the VCS-E which is then sent to an Alias of your choice.
