We tested with 3 SX10s

-We believe this could this could be an issue with all SX10s

We used 3 computers to test.

-Dell latitude E7470 (HDMI and mini display port video output) older computer.

-Dell Latitude 7280 (HDMI and USB-c video output) newer version provided to new hires that want PC.

-MacBook Pro a1708 (USB-c video output only) standard computer for new hires that prefer Mac.

We use 3 adapters:

-Liberty HDMI to USB-c

-Tripp-lite HDMI to USB-c

-Mac (OEM) HDMI to USB-c

Trouble shooting:

SX10's were tested with CE9.24, CE9.15, CE8.31, TC7.39, CE9.3 (build) and they all had the same outcomes.

All 3 SX10s:

E7470 with mini display port - content looked good.

E7470 with HDMI - content looked good.

7280 with HDMI - content looked good.

7280 with Liberty USB-c adapter - content looked good

MacBook with Liberty USB-c adapter - content was green

MacBook with Tripp-lite USB-c adapter - content was green

MacBook with Mac (OEM) USB-c adapter - content was green

SX20:

E7470 with mini display port - content looked good.

E7470 with HDMI - content looked good.

7280 with HDMI - content looked good.

7280 with Liberty USB-c adapter - content looked good

MacBook with Liberty USB-c adapter - content looked good

MacBook with Tripp-lite USB-c adapter - content looked good

MacBook with Mac (OEM) USB-c adapter - content looked good

We have not seen this issue with SX20s, SX80s, the DX series, MX series, or spark kit and kit plus.

we can only creat this issue with the SX10.

Have you tried changing the output resolution of the Mac? If you look at the datasheets of SX10 and SX20 they do differ with regards to input resolutions. They both cap at 1920x1080 but not all of the others listed are the same. Start simple - XGA (1024x768), and see if any of them work.

The problem with the Macbook is that it will try to output HDCP protected content, so the endpoints correctly detect that they are being fed HDCP content, and disable it and you see the green screen if the Macbook doesn't work it out and display non-HDCP content.

The SX10 being a very low end endpoint, probably doesn't communicate with the Macbook properly to tell it that.  I know there have been a number of other display type issues with the SX10s in the past as well, such as CEC support, which is only just now being introduced on the latest software releases.

I'd suggest, as always, that you try upgrading your SX10s to the most recent software release (as at the date of this response, version CE9.3.0) to see if that helps at all.

I know this is not quite the same scenario, but we allow for a number of HDMI and USBc devices in our room to share via our WebEx Room Kits.

USBc --> Lenovo Dock --> Extron HDMI Switcher --> WebEx Kit HDMI
HDMI                 -->

The Extron was causing a green screen for Apple devices. The fix was just to disable HDCP on the Extron Input per the attached screenshot.
