Solved: If you upgrade your MCU 5320

Currently we have MCU 5320 running 4.5(1.45) version. I see that Cisco offers TelePresence Server code for MCU:

By looking at the release notes is not very clear if when running TPS 3.1 in MCU we will lose the "TelePresence MCU" capability in CUCM to be able to use this 5320 MCU for Ad-hoc conferencing.

I know that TPS 3.1 does not offer this capability but if you look at the file name for MCU is cisco_ts_3.1_1.98_for_mcu_5300.zip (32.04 MB) vs TPS 3.1 cisco_ts8700_3.1_1.98.zip (26.24 MB)

If you upgrade your MCU 5320 with the TelePresence Server migration software, this will turn the MCU into a TelePresence Server so all features and functionality will be that of a TelePresence Server and not an MCU. The cisco_ts_3.1_1.98_for_mcu_5300 software is for migrating an MCU 5300 Series to a TelePresence Server. While the cisco_ts8700_3.1_1.98 software is specifically for hardware that is already running TP Server software, such as the various TelePresence Servers models listed here, this includes MCUs that were migrated to run TP Server software such as the MCU 5300 Series and MCU MSE 8510.
