MX200 Odd Behavior

Hey all,

I got an MX200 running TC7.0.1 and I currently have a Cisco DMP hooked up to it running a presentation 24x7, this is a test system.  Anyway, I have the DMP set to the main video source, which is the DVI input.  When not in a call I see & hear the presentation fine with selfview enabled.  As soon as a call connects to the MX200, the audio goes away both locally & remotely.  The video still plays in selfview and to the farend, but no audio???

Thank you,

Dont have one here to test, but it might not be a strange behavior.

I assume you use the audio line (3.5mm) input?

I would guess its a feature rather than a bug?

if not in a call: play back local sound

if in a call w/o presentation: mute audio to not mess with the conference

if in a call with presentation: play audio

Can you try to see if the audio starts up when you start the presentation?

Just browsed through the admin guide but did not find a configurable option,

which does not mean that there is none, but maybe you check it on the endpoint.

Martin,

There is actually (2) RCA inputs for line level audio, not 3.5mm.

Could be a feature, but I don't like it

Yes, I do get the audio if I hit presentation within the call.

The reason I don't like this, besides the fact that I cannot use the MX200 as a test system now; but the mere fact that in all the other codecs the second/third a/v inputs play sounds no matter what.  For example, I have the reverse problem on my SX20 which plays audio from the PC input no matter the call status.

At least on the integrator models I have control to associate audio with a certain video source.

ah, hehe, yea, I accidentally looked at the mx300g2 guide and that one does not seem to have RCA inputs anymore.

Anyhow, this is more an integrator thing I would guess.

Taken from the C60 admin guide:

Not sure if this is the option as it does not mention in a call or not, but checking with the tc-console

might give you more input if you do not like this behavior on the integrator codecs.

Anyhow feel free to wait for other answers or file it to TAC (like I said, I dont think its considered as a bug),

I see that more people would get in trouble with your wanted option, so you might be an exeption here.

Unless the option is already hiding on the endpoint, consider to file a feature request for it.
