I have a large CMS installation with no inbound or forwarding rules but calls still able to land on user spaces.

Does somebody knows why?

CMS 2.3

Hello,

I will try to explain.
So inbound rules required when you are calling outside of CMS, for example an endpoint registered to CUCM or VCS.
But if you are calling from CMA or webRTC then there is no inbound rule required as user is already logged in and has access to call any space.

Thanks.

This is calling outside CMS.

Hello,

So as discussed, you are dialing space-number@domain and by default if no inbound rule is configured, CMS will match all domains and users will be able to connect to space.

This is mentioned in below link under (Incoming call page :callmatching -- Points to note.)

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/conferencing/ciscoMeetingServer/Deployment_Guide/Version-2-3/Cisco-Meeting-Server-2-3-Single-Combined-Server-Deployment.pdf

And if you have any single inbound rule then CMS will look only inbound table and process the call accordingly.

Thanks
